Based on America’s Test Kitchen’s Winner
We worked with J.K. Adams to create an exclusive Maple Reversible Carving Board. We based our design on J.K. Adams’ America’s Test Kitchen winning design and added a few features we wanted to see in our kitchens. We kept the features that make this a winner: juice trenches, one side flat with the other poultry shaped for turkeys, all while keeping it midweight and moderately sized.

Two sizes are available:
Standard - 20 x 14 inches
Large - 24 x 16 inches

Rectangular Shape
We had this board crafted with straight ends, making it easy to store vertically. This also maximizes surface area for slicing and carving.

Finger Grooves
We added finger grooves on the ends to make it easy to lift when you have to move the board around in the kitchen or to the table.

Juice Trenches
Each side of the reversible board features a juice groove that holds liquid to prevent juices from spilling on your counter.

Standard: Holds ½ cup of liquid.
Large: Holds ¾ cup of liquid.

Reversible
Keeping the virtues that make this board a winner was key. We maintained one flat side for uninterrupted carving and chopping while the other side is indented, making it perfect for carving your Thanksgiving turkey.

Made by J.K. Adams in the USA.

Wood: Maple

Standard: 20 x 14 x 1.25 inches (51 x 36 x 3.18 cm)
Large: 24 x 16 x 1.25 inches (61 x 41 x 3.18 cm)

Care + Use
Wash in warm, soapy water after each use and dry thoroughly with a towel. Never soak or submerge in water, run in a dishwasher, or use in a microwave. Apply your choice of wood conditioner (ideally mineral oil and beeswax) once a week, with a lint-free cloth, to all surfaces—until the finish is established, and at any time the board feels dry.

If at any time the grain of your product becomes raised–causing a rough feeling–a light buffing in the affected area with 200 grit sandpaper will smooth the finish. Reapply wood conditioner after this process.

Regular regimented care of this product will protect it for years to come.

Return Policy
Carving Boards can be exchanged or returned within 30 days of purchase so long as they are in their unopened original packaging.

"I gave the board as a gift."

I Think I Will Like It

"I am in the process of treating it, as it arrived while I was gone for a few days. The board is substantial, as well as nice looking. I am going to treat it twice before using it, but I have no doubt that It will get passed along to a child or grandchild, is it has the look and feel of a long-lived family utensil that will evoke memories every time it is hauled out. I was a bit surprised that it is recommended to retreat, every two weeks, so will need to order a couple more bottles of your Wood Conditioner. My old board was treated after each use or every three months it went unused and it lasted for 40 years until I personally and VERY accidentally destroyed it."

Great carving board

"Even nicer than I expected (from looking at pictures and reading reviews. Loved that the 2 different sides could be used for different situations. Also loved the grooves to capture liquids."

Almost perfect

"TL;DR: Love the deep juice trenches. Never use the poultry carving side due to its impracticality for my needs. Would still buy again, but wish they made one without the carving indentation and deep juice trenches on both sides. First, I'm a home cook. My biggest gripe with any other cutting board is the juice trenches getting filled and spilling onto the counter -- not with this one. I love love love the deep juice trench. I can cut a watermelon with no overflow. This is subjective to how much you cook full size birds. For me, the poultry side almost never gets used. The carving indentation is far too deep (little over 3/4in or nearly 21mm) and shaped for a bird (pretty much a turkey) to be practical for anything else. I new it came with it, but didn't expect it to be that deep. It doesn't lend itself to mid-size meats, i. e. roast or loin, or veggies that need to be cut cleanly through without having to rotate your wrist. Want to use a granton blade for BBQ? Forget it on the carving side. This just leaves me with one side to use for both meat and non-meats. All things considered, I would still buy it again and recommend it for the deep juice trench alone. If ThermoWorks makes this same board without the carving indentation and deep trenches on both sides, I would buy it in a heartbeat. Personally, I think it would sell better too since it is less specialized."

Love this cutting board! Perfect

"Love this cutting board! Perfect size and like the idea that on one side it is indented to help hold the bird in place."

Q&A

Can you give me a specific brand, product name, and supplier for the product to treat the board? I've been using it, but it is not treated. I want to take care of it. Thank you.
Great question, J.K. Adams (who makes the board) recommends using food-grade mineral oil. You can find their exact products here: https://www.jkadams.com/collections/wood-care That’s the best way to keep it conditioned and looking great
