Perfect for home, office, and factory, our new RT817E displays indoor and outdoor temperature as well as indoor humidity. Each unit ships with an external temperature sensor with 10 feet of cable to measure temperature in a remote location.
Mount your new RT817E on the wall or on the desk with its convenient wall mount or fold-out stand. With large 1 inch digits you'll have no trouble reading the current display.
The RT817E records Min and Max temperatures as well as an ice point alarm for use with the remote probe. Set the alarm to ON and you'll be alerted when the outside temperature drops below 32°F (0°C).
Each unit includes a AAA 1.5V battery, wall bracket, remote sensor, and operating instructions. The RT817E is a professional tool at an affordable price.
1. Removed the plastic cover.
2. pressed the F/C button in back to select Fahrenheit.
3. pressed the power button in the center of the front.
4. inserted the probe and waited for the temp and humidity to register correctly.
I was just thinking this would be perfect for the tall cabinet humidor I’m planning to build in the not too distant future. I absolutely trust the Thermo Works brand!
In general, nothing about an incubator would be problematic, as long as you use the Thermo Hygrometer (RT817E) within temperature and humidity guidelines within a non-condensing environment. We recommend that you speak with our Technical Sales team if you have additional questions. You may contact them by emailing sales@thermoworks.com or by calling 1-800-393-6434.
The remote only displays the temperature data. The device itself displays both the temperature and humidity data.
Yes. The probe is typically used as an ice-point alert or for outdoor temperature. If that is not needed, the probe does not need to be plugged in for the base unit to operate properly.
Yes, it is alright to leave the unit on all of the time. It includes an On/Off button as some people only want to temporarily take measurements.
One example: While on a RV vacation, you may want to measure the temperature outside while you are parked in a high-altitude campground (as it may get very cold there), while also measuring the humidity temperatures inside the RV while running your propane heater (which generates a lot of humidity). Before you move your RV to a new location, you'll want to turn off the unit and bring the temperature probe inside.
Many customers have used the Thermo Hygrometer (RT817E) in this manner. Just make sure you keep it within the temperature range as follows:
Indoor: 32 to 122°F (0 to 50°C)
Outdoor: -58 to 158°F (-50 to 70°C)
Do you have to drill a hole or?
I ran the cable out a window, between the window frame and window (just closed the window on top of the cable). Then I connected the probe mount to the outside wall of my house. Works just fine.
The calibration is not adjustable. To keep it reading accurately, we recommend keeping the sensor area clean and free of dust buildup.
Attaching a magnet to the back of this device will not affect the function at all.
Hi Trey,
The Thermo Hygrometer is not NIST Traceable. If you are looking for something that can measure both temperature and humidity with NIST Traceability, I would recommend taking a look at our RH SPOT™.
The RH SPOT™ can be found at: https://www.thermoworks.com/rh-spot/
If you are looking for something in particular, feel free to give us a call at 800.393.6434. We are happy to help find the best product for your needs.
It's practical.
