No laser directing beam.
The Cold Zone Infrared thermometer works well, but at first I was not pleased. Most all other infrared thermometers have a visible laser beam to show where the invisible infrared beam is directed. So without the laser beam to show the point where the infrared beam is directed the thermometer has to be used at close range. I wanted to use it under my camper that is being used through the winter. With foam insulation skirting all around the camper, I wanted to be able to point the thermometer through a small door in the skirting to measure the temperature of the black and gray water tanks. But without the laser beam I am not sure exactly where the infrared beam is landing. So I can only use it at range. For that reason I almost returned the unit.

Great remove Temp sensor
Works great. I use it for measuring temperatures in buildings that are only partially heat to keep equipment from freezing. It helps me find points of air entry and I check critical parts of my pumping system to make sure they are not frozen.
